Community Sponsored Seafood Our Community Sponsored Seafood
(CSS)
program was initiated to provide savings to the seafood consumer and to
share the fixed costs associated with sourcing direct seafood. Otolith
Sustainable Seafood only distributes the highest quality sustainable
seafood.
To join CSS
Benefits > Get the best quality seafood of the season for less than retail prices! > Participate in an initiative that buys directly from responsible harvesters and contributes to environmentally sound fishery management! > Support the new green economy by encouraging environmentally friendly jobs! Features > There are 250 shares available for each seasonal CSS Program. Each share is $130-$180 -- less than $13-$15 per pound for sustainably harvested fish usually priced at $18-$20 per pound in stores. > Each share receives one delivery of nearly 5lbs fish every three or four weeks until all fish has been distributed. Most CSS Programs have three deliveries; smaller programs only have two deliveries. > Each delivery provides approximately 5 lbs of sustainable Alaskan fish -- enough for a family of four to have three generous meals per month. Summer CSS has King, Coho, Pink, and Sockeye Salmons and Fall CSS has halibut, rockfish and Pacific Cod whitefish. The total monthly share arrives in approximately five 1.0 lb (average) vacuum pack portions. Program Share Pick-Up Locations Otolith Sustainable Seafood Greensgrow Farm Inc. Headhouse

funds are held separately in a Community
Supported Seafood account at: > Share deposits will not be released to purchase fish until all shares have been sold. > In the event that all shares are not sold within three months of Initial Public Offering [IPO], all deposits will be returned in full to each seasonal shareholder. Checks for the amount of deposit will be mailed or available for pick-up at each shareholder's designated CSS pick-up location. Alternate arrangements shall be accomodated for market locations which are closed for the winter. > Shareholder Return Policy: Returns for CSS share released funds will be honored up to 30 days after the initial CSS share sale opening for each season. Please allow two weeks for refunded payments to be issued in the form of a check in the amount of the CSS share cost less $20 dollars for administrative expenses. Checks will be mailed via USPS. > Costs associated with this program include, but are not limited to, the cost of: (1) sustainable salmon, (2) filleting and blast freezing portions, (3) transportation, (4) delivery, (5) labor, and (6) fixed costs for all direct market seafood purchased in Alaska. Payment Options > The best way! Checks made payable to Otolith Sustainable Seafood. > Another way! Cash will be accepted but is
not recommended. Otolith asks that participants release share payments as soon as they decide to participate. Since CSS fish is caught just weeks before delivery, sea and weather conditions may sometimes cause shipments to arrive late. Otolith is committed to improving the predictability of CSS delivery. However, when nature is involved, there will always be an element of uncertainty. Participants who are concerned about the timing of their CSS delivery should not hesitate to communicate their needs to Otolith management via phone or email.
