There are 5 species of wild commercially harvested salmon. They are King, Coho, Sockeye, Pink, and Keta. Each species has its own distict proportion of healthful omega-3 fatty acids, color and texture. Among wild salmon, there are remarkable differences in flavor that are mostly the result of the differences in their diet and fat content of each species.
